Apostolos Zorbas & Ioanna Kakoulidou

Biography

Ioanna and Apostolos are based in Munich, Germany, and they have been dancing together since 2018. They explore various styles of swing dance, with a particular focus on Collegiate Shag, while also enjoying Lindy Hop, Balboa, Boogie Woogie, and Solo Jazz. Their journey has taken them to numerous international festivals, where they have had the opportunity to compete both individually and as a couple.

They have participated in several Collegiate Shag and Lindy Hop contests, including a recent first-place finish as a couple in the showcase competition at BCN Shag 2024. As well as the strictly Lindy hop competition at RTSF2025. Their enthusiasm for dancing naturally extends to choreography and teaching, where they find joy in sharing their knowledge and experiences with others.

Furthermore, as members and part of the choreographers' team in the Vintage Club Showgroup, Ioanna and Apostolos have taken part and placed in team competitions at events like the Savoy Cup and Camp Hollywood, where they have connected with fellow dancers and gained valuable insights from the community. They also participate in several team showcases each year, with their local event, RockThatSwingFestival being a significant highlight.

Their diverse backgrounds greatly enhance their dancing and teaching approach: Apostolos began his dance journey in Greece, accumulating over 20 years of experience in traditional Greek dances, while Ioanna's competitive sports background infuses her style with a dynamic and spirited energy. Together, they are committed to encouraging growth and enjoyment in the dance community for dancers of all levels.
