Jeepers Creepers Band
Biography
"Jeepers Creepers Band" is a jazz group formed in September 2017.
The orchestra specializes in orchestrating and re-performing pieces from the golden 1930s and 1940s of Swing, as well as presenting original compositions inspired by that aesthetic. They took their name from the well-known Harry Warren song made famous by Louis Armstrong. Thanks to their dedication to the Jazz idiom, they have managed to appear in numerous venues at home and abroad.
In 2021, they had the great honor of winning first place in the Pan-European Swinging Europe Competition, an important distinction both for them and for Greece, since it is an institution funded by the European Union.They have collaborated with internationally renowned soloists (Giorgos Antoniou, Haris Ioannou, Stefan Vasnier, Katie Cosco, Marc Devine, Dan Block, Gilad Atzmon etc.) and with many groups of dancers in Greece and abroad such as Rhythm Hoppers, Athens Lindy hop, Hob Nob, Kalamata lindy hop, Swing in Mexico, Pescara Swing, etc. They have participated in many festivals (Kardamili International jazz festival, Petit Paris d'Athenes, Swing N' Sail, Fougaro Jazz Festival, DjangoFest, Festival International de Hot Jazz Mexico etc.).
Their first album 'Hittin' the Cake' is released by Ankh Music.
