Peter Loggins is the foremost researcher on American Jazz Dance. Credited during the 1990’s for bringing back many of the dances that he learned from the original dancers of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s.

Katja Završnik started dancing at the age of 5 and through the years studied various forms of dance such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Ballroom, Gymnastics and Acrobatic Rock and Roll for 9 years.

Sharon Davis lives in London and has taught and performed Lindy Hop, Charleston, Jazz and Burlesque around the world since 2006.

Ben White has been addicted to all things swing since 2004. He has studied Lindy Hop, Balboa, Tap, and Solo Jazz dance under masters from the original swing era

Lindy Hop, Swing Dances Jenna Applegarth & Nejc Zupan

Nejc started dancing swing back in 2003 as a result of his contemporary dance experience and a strong love for jazz music. Because of this he became the main culprit for the popularization of Lindy Hop and Balboa in Slovenia in the early 2000s.

Jenna found swing dancing in 2004 in her small local scene of Wenatchee WA. Since then she has spent countless hours expanding her dancing repertoire and sharing her love and knowledge of these dances with others.

Fabien and Lisa met in Herrang, Sweden in 2010 and have been teaching and dancing together ever since. Coming from different backgrounds they both bring their own particular expertise, talents, and enthusiasm to the partnership.

Fabien comes from France and has been teaching swing dancing since 2004, specializing in lindy hop and blues. His love of choreography has led to him to choreograph a number of successful showcases performed at ILHC and other events, as well as the recent ‘French Connection’ Team that placed 2nd at ILHC and ESDC.

Veli and Dani were one of the first dance couples in Sofia, Bulgaria when Swing culture took over the country in 2009-2010.

In addition to dancing together since the beginning, in 2013 they founded their own dance school – Swingin Monkeys. It is among the leading schools in the country and they are constantly adding new swing dance styles.

Shag, Charleston Mariangela Salichou

Mariangela is the founder and director of Athens Lindy Hop. She has been dancing Swing since 2004 in London and has brought Lindy Hop for the first time ever in Athens, Greece in 2008.

Along with her partner, Nefeli, she has initiated and built the foundations of the ever growing Athenian Swing dance scene delivering classes, organising social dances and big events.

Tap, Vernacular Jazz Thanos Matrapazis

From an early age he loved to sing and dance in front of others. For a few years he was involved in traditional dances, taking part in children’s performances while exploring his passion for hip hop and break-dance.

Then as a teenager he took Latin classes such as Salsa, Cha Cha and Rumba and for a short time he started Tango classes. During the same period he was introduced to Swing and Blues, which he dedicated himself to for the following years, with intensive classes, social evenings, international festivals as well as international competitions.

Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Charleston and The Madison Time Paolo Lanna

Paolo is a 30 year veteran of Swing Dance specializing in the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Charleston and The Madison Time.

Signore Lanna and his original partner Janice Wilson were the first Lindy Hoppers to TOUR with with Wynton Marsalis & The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and in 1998 they won the American Swing Dance Championships. The’ve performed with “Swing Dance America”, “Forever Swing” The Musical Revue featuring Michael Buble and have appeared on multiple TV specials like Great Stuff CNBC , Today Show NBC, Good Morning America ABC, and even The David Letterman Show CBS.

Vlad was introduced to the lindy hop back in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the spirit of the dance and the history behind it. Since then, he has traveled around Greece and Europe dancing in many lindy hop stages and festivals both as a student and an instructor, side by side, different talented partners.

Ever since he saw ILHC 2013 competition video, Miloš has been inspired and motivated to start swing dancing. In 2018 he became one of the founders of Swing’n’Roll dance school in Belgrade. Even though he started as a Lindy Hopper, he fell in love with Balboa and became one of the founders of the scene in Belgrade in 2019.

Nevena’s swing dancing journey started on the other side of the world, during a vacation on Réunion island. When she got back home to Serbia, she started taking classes, and ever since she’s constantly being inspired by music and movement, always improvising and having fun.

Tihomir Djokic (SRB) started dancing Lindy Hop in 2018 and almost immediately fell in love with all Afro-American dances, with the Blues being a distinct favorite.

Born in the United States, he grew up listening to a wide variety of American music that heavily influenced his values towards dancing; especially the importance of musicality and improvisation in dance expression.

Apostolos Zorbas and Ioanna Kakoulidou, who live in Munich, Germany, began swing dancing at the Vintage Club under Marcus and Bärbl’s guidance. Since 2018, they’ve participated in many international festivals and competed in Collegiate Shag and Lindy Hop contests.

Apostolos started his dance journey in Greece, with over 20 years of experience in traditional Greek dances. However, in recent years, he has devoted himself to all styles of swing dances, excelling particularly in Collegiate Shag.
